How to Draw a Monkey

Monkeys are clever and playful animals that are part of the primate family. Their habitat spans many warm parts of the world, with the majority living in forests throughout Africa, Asia, and Central and South America.

There are two categories of monkeys: old-world monkeys (from the continents of Africa and Asia) and new-world monkeys (from the Americas). Another major difference is that many species of New World monkeys have prehensile tails they can use to grasp branches; Old World monkeys do not. Monkeys come in many sizes. The smallest is the pygmy marmoset, which is about the size of a human hand; the largest monkeys can weigh as much as a 10-year-old child. The body is covered with fur, and most of them have tails.

These animals are very social and usually live in groups called troops. These groups have rules about who’s in charge and who gets food first. Monkeys communicate with each other using sounds, faces, and body movements.

• Drawing papers

Step-by-step guides for drawing a Monkey.  

Step – 1

Depict the Monkey’s eyes. Using circles, draw out the monkey’s eyes at the upper left side of the drawing sheet.

Step – 2

Add more features to the monkey’s face. Using curved lines, Draw the nose, mouth, and inner outline of the face, as shown below.

Step – 3

Finish Drawing of the monkey’s face. Add the monkey’s ears to both sides of the head and draw out the outer outline of the monkey’s face.

Step – 4

After finishing drawing the monkey’s face, let’s draw the torso of the monkey. Below the head, depict the monkey’s torso, as shown in the example.

Step – 5

In this stage, we are going to draw the arms of the monkey.

Step – 6

As in the previous step, add two legs to our little monkey.

Step – 7

Depict the twisty tail starting from the back of the monkey’s body. Remove the auxiliary lines and complete the monkey outlining.

Step – 8

Color the drawing.
